Fundraising Tips

Donate to your own page - Others are more likely to donate when they see that someone has already contributed and also shows you are serious about helping the cause.

Personalize your fundraising page - add your own text, pictures, or video.  Tailor your messaging to tell your own personal reasons why you are fundraising for The Aly Wolff Foundation, Inc.

Know what your are fundraising for - when communicating to potential donors be able to explain what the cause is and what the money goes towards.

Below we have put together a summary of what Aly's Honky Tonk Hustle and The Aly Wolff Foundation, Inc have and are trying to accomplish for fundraisers to communicate to donors:

Aly's Honky Tonk Hustle is an annual event held in memory of Aly Wolff that supports cutting edge cancer research at the UW Carbone Cancer Center.  It takes place in McFarland, WI every May and features a 5k Run/Walk and Honky Tonk after party.  In the last three years, over 800 participants have been in attendance at each event and over $360,700 has been raised for cancer research.  This year the hope is to hit half-a-million dollars raised in four years.

The Aly Wolff Foundation, Inc is an official 501(c)(3) charity that was created by Aly's family in March of 2014 to continue her dream of starting a successful charity and taking a stand against cancer so that no person or family has to endure what Aly went through.  Currently, the foundation funds research studies at UW Carbone Cancer Center, as well as real hair wigs for local cancer patients.  The Aly Wolff Neuroendocrine Project was initiated at the UW Carbone Cancer Center in spring of 2015.  Four UW Carbone Cancer Center scientists were awarded grants to start pilot projects researching neuroendocrine tumors.  Learn about the scientists and their projects here.

Social Media - When using social media don't just ask for money.  Ask for a share, post about your training for the 5k, share inspiring news stories or other positive anecdotes about the cause.

Remember you are not asking for money for yourself but for a good cause!
